Kristy Ritvalsky, MPH is the founder and Director at EdCity, LLC. She has led large-scale grant projects and worked with parents, schools, and community members on climate and culture initiatives for more than 20 years. Throughout her career, she has focused on identifying the strengths that exist in the social and educational infrastructure of inner-city communities and conceptualized strategies to leverage existing resources.
Over the years, she has managed School-Wide Positive Behavior Intervention and Support (SW-PBIS) implementation in the Philadelphia Public School system, supported Newark Public Schools with inclusive education best practices and helped to advance social-emotional learning systematic implementation efforts. Through her advocacy and collaborative consultation style, Kristy hopes to educate and support the use of evidence-based practices in schools that promote safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environments.
Tania Leonard, MS is a Philadelphia native with over 20 years of experience identifying and connecting resources for schools, whole districts, and urban communities. She has a rich history working in the mental health field and education leadership. Tania has worked tirelessly collaborating with child servicing agencies at both the city and state levels. Her strong leadership and coordinating skills have supported numerous collaborative efforts through committee work in conjunction with child servicing agencies, several urban schools and districts, District Attorney’s Offices, Juvenile Justice Systems, Disciplinary Placement Representatives, and other Inter-agency work.
Tania's work includes collaborating with district, school, and community-based leadership teams where she provides guidance and coaching to schools with climate and culture initiatives including developing tiered systems of support. Tania has supported school teams with the implementation of evidence-based frameworks like PBIS, MTSS, and SEL. She has also mastered responding to behavioral health emergencies and managing the aftermath of school and community crises. She is a trained Trauma-Informed Professional and holds a certification in Education Policy.
Tania remains committed to providing high-quality services to the most vulnerable populations.
Vorlea Chaney is an educator with a vast range of experience in student support services, including Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) implementation and coaching, climate management, student discipline, parental involvement, professional development, training and design, and monitoring student attendance and responding to truancy.
As the Director of Attendance and Truancy for a large urban school district, Vorlea increased the district's capacity to support daily student attendance by building and managing district-level infrastructure and developing community and local government collaborations to support district staff that oversees student daily attendance behavior within a multi-tiered system of support.
